Tenzing Business Simulations UK
Frequently Asked Questions
How are business simulations most used?

As part of a management development programme, typically of 3 to 5 days duration, for up to 24 delegates. Simulation is a practical reinforcement of the taught elements of the course (which might include strategic planning, finance, product development, marketing and distribution etc.) and provides a common focus and thread throughout the programme.

At what level of management is a business simulation aimed?

At all levels, for senior managers we would restrict the amount of time available and help given to participants, while at a more junior level great care would be taken to ensure that all the people involved understood the principles of the simulation prior to and during the programme.

How much time is needed in the programme for the simulation?

Depending on the complexity of the simulation and the level of participants (see above), the decision time for each trading period is between one and two hours. In addition we need a similar amount of time to process and print the results. Typically, programmes would contain four to six trading periods. Management development professionals tend to place the simulation decision periods over/after lunch and at the end of the day to fill the typically "tired" times with an exciting exercise.

How long will it take to build a simulation specifically for our company?

To allow for researching your industry, the design and building of the simulation will normally take a minimum of three to four months. If one of the many simulations we have already developed would be suitable, this time frame can be greatly reduced.

What does it cost?

Our existing simulations may be used at our daily rates. If we build a simulation specifically for your company we charge a development fee - typically £10- £12,000.

Which companies have used your simulations?

A large number of leading companies in many different industries, a list of referees is available on request.
